A passion for trees

Adam Riedi holds the Arboricultural Association Technicians Certificate and the LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection Certificate. He has been working in the industry since 1995 as both as a contracting and consulting arborist and spent 11 years as a professional tree climber.

He has travelled throughout Europe to visit iconic specimen trees and ancient woodland and to exchange ideas with other tree professionals in Latvia, Holland, France, Spain, Germany and Russia.

Adam was the Secretary of the Scottish Branch of the Arboricultural Association and in May 2010 chaired the seminar of leading tree expert Professor Claus Mattheck. In 2011 he chaired a tree planting seminar with Keith Sacre of Barchams trees as the principal speaker

Mr Riedi has recently delivered arboricultural management plans for tree collections at Falkland palace (National Trust for Scotland), Kinross House, House of Falkland and Scone Palace, Diana’s Grove at Blair Castle, Smeaton-Hepburn, Brahan Estate and Ardkinglas Woodland Gardens for the National Tree Collections of Scotland and Charlotte Square Edinburgh.

In 2016 Mr Riedi became the co-ordinator of The Ancient Tree Forum in Scotland.

He is currently running a number of training workshops on the management of veteran trees with new dates for 2016.
